The Process for your Web Design Project...

From the moment you contact us to discuss your Web Design requirements, we will endeavour to give you all the advice, information and assistance you need to make the right choices for YOUR website.

Click on the links below to jump to each stage of the web design process to see what you can expect as we develop your web presence:

Stage 1: Initial Consultation

Stage 2: Website Specification

Stage 3: Development

Stage 4: Testing, Refinement & Review

Stage 5: Completion & Promotion

...and beyond

Stage 1: Initial Consultation

During an initial meeting or discussion, by e-mail, phone, or in person (if you are based on or near the Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside areas), we will gather information so that we can prepare a profile detailing your business information, design requirements and your desired goals for the website in terms of either promoting or improving your small business, group and services and/or increasing revenue and new customers.

We then review this information and provide you with a short report or summary of your requirements, as well as offering suggestions and recommendations, together with an estimation of costs and timescales. This stage of the process is free, without obligation and can usually be completed within a day or two at most.

You are encouraged to use this handy questionnaire, which has been put together to help you to consider the various aspects of the web design project, so that you can provide us with a detailed outline of your needs and expectations.

Stage 2: Website Specification

After you have reviewed our initial report for the project, we ask for your comments and will also request any additional details that may not have been covered during the first consultation, such as domain registration, hosting and email requirements.

With your feedback, we can then work on some ideas for the website layout/design and, once you are happy to move forward, we will provide you with a more detailed quote including the work requirements and schedule, content and full design specifications. We will also be able to give more precise costs for the project at this stage and agree timescales for each stage of the project.

Whether you decide to choose from a wide variety of templates for us to customise or you have a very specific idea that you would like us to create from scratch, your final website design will be developed based entirely on your preferences and requirements.

Stage 3: Development

Once you are satisfied with the full specification for the project, we will need you to supply any relevant text and images you wish to include, plus a company logo if you have one. Ideally these will be in electronic format, either e-mailed to us or saved to disk, but we can scan and manipulate images to use in the website if you do not have electronic copies of these*.

We will generally request a deposit at this stage (up to 25% of the total quote value) in order to secure our services and to cover initial costs such as domain registration.

We can also assist with writing the text content (copywriting), sourcing relevant royalty-free stock photography and creating images/logos to use in the site. Details of costs for these services can be found in our services & pricing information.

Note: As part of our service, we will spend time checking and correcting spelling/grammar and editing/optimising the copy (text) in each page of your site, including keywords, so that they can be more effectively found and indexed by the main search engines. While we do not have a formal limit to the number of words or images per page at SitePlus Web Services, it is worth bearing in mind that overloading the page can give an untidy impression, as well as making it more difficult for the search engines to find the relevant information, so it is wise to be selective and choose content that is both eye-catching and as concise and relevant as possible for each page. We will be happy to advise on content and make suggestions for improvement, where necessary.

Stage 4: Testing, Refinement & Review

While we are working on the site, we can give you login details so that you can access the site online and see how it is developing. We will test and refine the site throughout this stage and welcome your comments and queries to ensure that you are entirely satisfied with the progress and the results of our work.

It is in both our interests to produce an attractive, functional website as this will not only reflect on your business or group, but also on our skills and services in Web Design. We are not satisfied that our work is done until your new website is completed with the consideration and attention to detail on which we pride ourselves.

Stage 5: Completion & Promotion

Once the website has been completed and we have your final approval, we will provide you with a backup copy of the website and all associated files (where relevant) on CD/DVD. We can then undertake optional tasks such as search engine registration and submission of your site to directories, to increase potential for visitors to the site. Please see our pricing page for details of these optional tasks.

Payment of any outstanding balance is expected by this stage and we also welcome your continuing comments and queries about your site and our services.

This is where many other web designers stop...
...but not at SitePlus Web Services

As far as we are concerned, completion of the website project does not mean that our service to you should stop.

We will continue to support and assist you in any way we can with your new site*, including updates and additions to your website, as well as helping you to monitor visitor activity and improve integration with your existing marketing strategies, etc.

If you have any queries or comments about any aspect of our website design services, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will always endeavour to exceed your expectations!

* charges will apply for additional work undertaken outside of the agreed job specification tasks, please refer to our pricing information and/or your personalised quote/agreement for details.
